Young family housing combines amenity with cool in central Venice

Budget

$3.5m

Area

11,400 sqft

Client

Wylan James

Location

Venice Beach, Los Angeles

This development close to Venice beach creates 4 houses, each connected on two sides to form a single building. Nested to form a coherent block, this new community taps into the Venice vernacular of bungalow compounds where neighborliness and urban cool co-exist.

Our design reflects the location and covetable relaxed ambience of beach lifestyle, with huge windows to maximize the ocean light and a folded white metal façade referencing upmarket beach shacks. Simple white volumes celebrate the world’s most benign climate with inside/outside spaces, and flowing rooms whose generosity reflects the local spirit as much as the local market.

Venice has become the prime area for young couples, those about to have children, and families looking for amenity and space combined with the cool cache of casual lux. KAP’s beautifully detailed concept images were instrumental in helping our client convey their ambition quickly to a variety of audiences within a highly competitive market for both acquisitions and disposals.
